MR MOJO RISIN./THE CRAWLIN LIZARD KING.

WEST COAST MUSIC HAD NO PLACE IN MY MUSIC COLLECTION UNTIL I HEARD THE MUSIC OF THE DOORS.THIS WAS A MIX OF ACID,BLUES AND HARD ROCK.I FOUND JIM MORRISONS USE OF POETRY AND MUSIC FACSINATING.THE WORDS AND MUSIC RESONATING WITH ME THAT HIS INFLUENCES BECAME MY INFLUENCES THROUGH THE WORKS OF THE GREATS SUCH AS ALDOUS HUXLEY AND FRIEDRICH NIETZSCHE.THE DOORS NAME WAS TAKEN FROM A BOOK BY HUXLEY CALLED THE DOORS OF PERCEPTION HEAVEN AND HELL.THE BOOK WENT ON TO BECOME A CULT TEXT IN THE PSYCHEDELIC SIXTIES AND TO INSPIRE THE DOORS THROUGH THEIR MUSIC.HUXLEY ALSO APPEARS ON THE BEATLES LANDMARK ALBUM SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND.

THE DOORS WERE AMONG THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL ROCK BANDS OF THE SIXTIES,DUE MOSTLY TO JIM MORRISON’S WILD POETIC LYRICS AND CHARISMATIC BUT UNPREDICTABLE STAGE PERSONA.AFTER MORRISON’S DEATH IN 1971 AT THE AGE OF 27,THE REMAINING MEMBERS CONTINUED AS A TRIO,UNTIL DISBANDING IN 1973.

THE DOORS ON THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW-LIGHT MY FIRE.

THE DOORS ON THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR-TOUCH ME.
